Anahat Theatre was founded by director Andrea Cabrera Luna and producer-translator Teo Maler in London UK. Anahat’s first production was La Llorona at Vauxhall Gardens Community Centre.
In 2009 we produced Seven Jewish Children by Caryl Churchill in Puebla, Mexico. In the same year we ran an intensive 6-month workshop with different actors and performance artists and our exploration culminated in the production of Heiner Müller’s enigmatic play Medea Material Landscape with Argonauts in London.
Andrea moved to Mexico in 2011 where she directed A Solid Home by Elena Garro. Then both Teo and Andrea moved to Edinburgh, Scotland in 2013.
We are currently running workshops that explore different forms of storytelling with a group of actors that inject ideas and give flesh to different proposals. Our emphasis is on movement.
